NBA Power Rankings

1. San Antonio Spurs(37-7): Although the Spurs got handled on the road vs the Hornets on Saturday, they are still playing the best basketball in the NBA.
2. Boston Celtics (33-10): After 5 straight wins the Celtics lost to the lowly Wizards, but still are still the top team in the East as of now.
3. Los Angeles Lakers (32-13): The Lakers have been playing much better over the last couple of weeks, The question for them is, can they stay motivated for the rest of the season?
4. Chicago Bulls (30-14): Having their 2nd and 3rd best players missing significant time hasn't slowed the Bulls, they are currently the 3 seed in the East and at full strength will make some noise in the playoffs.
5. Miami Heat (31-13): The Heat's lack of depth is really hurting them while they battle injuries to the Big 3.
6. Orlando Magic (29-15): To me the Magic will always be the team that beats up the bad teams but just can't get by the good ones.
7. Oklahoma City Thunder (28-15): The Thunder have two of the best players in the NBA with Durant and Westbrook, but do they have the size to matchup with some of the elite teams in the league?
8. New Orleans Hornets (29-16): The Hornets just beat the Spurs easily at home and Chris Paul is playing like one of the top point guards in the league again.
9. Dallas Mavericks (28-15): The Mavs have been plagued with injures all season but are still the number 4 seed in the West.
10. Atlanta Hawks (29-16): The past few seasons the Hawks have been a very good regular season team and have done nothing in the playoffs to show for it.
11. Utah Jazz (27-17): The Jazz just lost a shocker on the road in Philadelphia, but D-will might be having the best year of his young career.
12. Denver Nuggets (25-18): Will he stay or will he go? Despite all the trade rumors the Nuggets are still the 7 seed in the West
13. Portland Trailblazers (25-20): The "Frailblazers" seem like they have someone go down just about every game, but are still playing good basketball for coach Nate McMillan
14. New York Knicks (22-21): The Knicks have been quiet since Christmas and seemed to have fallen back to reality. Maybe Carmelo can bring them a late Christmas present?
15. Phoenix Suns (20-22): Nash and Vince Carter are still trying to learn how to play with one another. Phoenix will probably be fighting for the 7 or 8 seed all season
16. Memphis Grizzles (21-23): The Grizzles have a talented team but do they have what it takes to make the playoffs this year?
17. Houston Rockets (20-25): The Rockets are always a tough team to beat, because they show up every night and give 100% unfortunately that probably wont be enough to make the playoffs this year.
18. Los Angeles Clippers (17-26): Blake Griffin is one of the best rookies we have ever seen, but can he carry the Clippers into the playoffs?
19. Philadelphia 76ers (18-25): The 76ers have a good trade chip in Andre Iguodala and really should move him and build for the future.
20. Golden State Warriors (19-24): The Warriors remind of the Grizzles, loads of talent but nothing to show for it.
21. Charlotte Bobcats (17-25): The Bobcats and Michael Jordan need to decide whether they are going to compete or go into rebuilding mode, and they would be lying to themselves if they think they can compete.
22. Indiana Pacers (16-25): Indiana leads the league in white players, no wonder they are 22nd in our power rankings.
23. Milwaukee Bucks (16-25): The Bucks have been caught in the headlights all year because of injury.
24  Detroit Pistons (16-28): The only thing the Pistons lead the league in is bad contracts.
25. Washington Wizards (13-29): Young players like John Wall and Javale Mcgee makes the Wizards future seem bright.
26. Toronto Raptors (13-31): Attention Denver Nuggets! Learn from the Raptor's mistakes, get some value for Carmelo Anthony while you can.
27. New Jersey Nets (12-32): Why do I feel like the Russian Billionaire has something up his sleeve regarding the Carmelo Anthony trade?
28. Minnesota Timberwolves (10-33): Free Kevin Love!
29. Sacramento Kings (9-32): My mom always said if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all.
30. Cleveland Cavaliers (8-35): Lebron should be a top MVP candidate just because of how far the Cavs have fallen since his departure.
